For the grown-ups

A little help with Lumlo.

Setting things up, scanning school words or finding saved progress? Start here.

How does free access work?

Every learning game is available for the first 72 hours after you open Lumlo. The time is shared by all child profiles and continues while the app is closed. There is no subscription sign-up or automatic charge. Afterwards, a parent can choose a monthly, three-monthly or yearly Lumlo Premium subscription to keep playing. The purchase is confirmed with Apple, and no additional free trial is included. Progress and stars are kept if you do not subscribe.

Which languages does Lumlo support?

The app’s menus and built-in learning activities are available in English and Swedish. Choose the app language in Settings. Your own vocabulary sets can use a wider selection of language pairs.

Can more than one child use Lumlo?

Yes. Open Settings and choose Add a child. Each child has their own profile, outfit, stars and progress. You can switch between children in Settings.

How do I add vocabulary from a school sheet?

Open Vocabulary and create or edit a set. Choose Scan paper or Choose photo. Clear two-column lists work best. Check the recognised words and translations before saving; Lumlo does not invent missing translations. You can also enter pairs by hand. Camera scanning is only available on supported devices.

How do parent power-ups work?

Open the parent area in Settings and enter your parent PIN. Choose the activity that should earn double stars, or set a practice-time goal and reward. You can include a message for your child. The child still chooses what to play.

Can I change the voice?

Yes. Open Settings to choose a voice and hear a sample. The available voices depend on those installed on your device. You can download an Enhanced or Premium voice in Apple’s Settings app. Learning prompts and optional menu narration have separate behaviour.

Where can I see progress?

My Learning shows play time, completed games and answer results. Use its filters to explore a learning area. Progress and achievements are saved separately for English and Swedish, so changing the app language can change what you see.

Will progress follow us to another device?

Lumlo saves data on the device first. When iCloud key-value storage is available, profiles, learning progress and saved word sets sync between devices signed in to the same Apple Account. Allow time for iCloud to sync. Make sure the same child and app language are selected on both devices.

How do I delete a child’s data?

Open Settings, choose the controls next to the child, then choose Remove and confirm. This removes their profile, stars, progress, word sets and vocabulary. The deletion is also sent to iCloud; other connected devices receive it when they sync. Removing the app alone does not necessarily remove iCloud data.
